Page Numbers
Choose a position, a starting number and a format such as 'Page 3 of 12'.
Page Numbers online, free and without limits
Courts, tender boards, auditors and examiners all expect numbered pages, and adding them by hand to a merged bundle is nobody's idea of a good afternoon. Pick a position, a starting number and a format — a bare numeral, 'Page 3 of 12', or a dashed style — and every page is stamped consistently. Because you control the starting number, a document that continues from an earlier volume can carry on from where that one stopped.
How to add page numbers to a PDF
- 1
Upload the PDF, ideally after you have merged and ordered it.
- 2
Choose where the number should sit — usually bottom center or bottom right.
- 3
Pick a format and the number to start counting from.
- 4
Press Page Numbers and download the numbered document.
What you get
- Nine positions, five formats, and control over size, color and margin.
- Start at any number, for bundles that continue from a previous volume.
- Number every page or restrict it to a range.
- Numbers are added as real text, so they are searchable and print correctly.
Questions about Page Numbers
What people usually want to know before they upload a document.
Can I skip numbering the cover page?
Yes. Enter a page range that begins at page 2, and set the starting number to whatever the second page should read as.
Can the numbering continue from another document?
Yes — set the starting number to the next value in your sequence. This is what multi-volume bundles need.
What if the page already has a number printed on it?
The new number is added on top of the existing artwork. Choose a different position, or crop the old number away first, to avoid the two colliding.
