A scanned document almost always carries pages nobody wants — the blank back of a one-sided page, a fax cover sheet, an internal note stapled in by mistake. Removing them shouldn't mean touching anything else in the file.
The quick version
- Open Remove Pages and upload the PDF.
- Type the pages to delete — a list, a range, or both:
2, 5-7. - Press Remove Pages.
- Download the tidied file.
Every page you didn't list is copied across exactly as it was — same resolution, same text, same order (renumbered, since the file is now shorter).
Dropping every blank page from a duplex scan
If a document was scanned double-sided but every other sheet was actually blank, you don't need to find and type each page number by hand. Type even or odd instead of a page list, and every even- or odd-numbered page is removed in one pass. This is the single most common reason people reach for this tool — a two-sided scanner that scanned the blank backs too.
Remove Pages vs. Organize vs. Split
These three tools all touch which pages end up in the final document, and it's easy to reach for the wrong one:
| You want to... | Use |
|---|---|
| Delete a few pages, keep the rest in one file | Remove Pages |
| See every page as a thumbnail before deciding what to drop or reorder | Organize PDF |
| Cut the document into several separate files | Split PDF |
If you're not sure which pages are blank until you actually look at them, Organize PDF is the better starting point — it shows a thumbnail of every page so you can decide by eye instead of guessing page numbers.
What doesn't change
- No re-compression. Kept pages are copied across untouched, so there's no quality loss on the pages you keep.
- Text stays searchable. Removing a page doesn't touch the ones that remain — anything selectable before stays selectable after.
- The original file is untouched. You're always working from a fresh upload; the download is a new file.
Guardrails worth knowing
The tool won't let you delete every page — if your list would empty the document, it stops rather than handing back an empty file. And if you type a page number that doesn't exist in the document, you're told immediately rather than having it silently ignored.
FAQ
How do I remove all the blank pages from a duplex scan?
If the blanks are consistently the backs of double-sided sheets, they're usually all the even (or all the odd) pages — type even or odd to drop them in one pass. If the blanks are scattered, use Organize PDF to see each page and delete the right ones by eye.
Can I undo a page removal after downloading?
The download is always a new file — your original upload is never modified. If you want to start over, upload the original file again.
Will the page numbers printed on the paper change?
No. A number printed on the page itself is part of the page content and stays exactly as scanned. What changes is only the position in the PDF — the page your reader used to show as "page 7" might now be "page 5" if two pages before it were removed.
Is there a limit to how many pages I can remove at once?
No. List as many individual pages and ranges as you need in one go — 2, 5-7, 12, 20-25 removes all of them in a single pass.
Do I need an account or does it add a watermark?
No. There's no signup and no watermark on the result. Files are processed on our own servers and deleted automatically within two hours.
What if I want to remove pages and reorder what's left?
Do both in one pass with Organize PDF — it handles deleting, reordering and rotating together, so you don't need to run two tools back to back.
